Sarah and James retire to Brittany after many years apart while working professionally in different cities. Sarah is expecting a second honeymoon followed by a life of bliss. She survives by reorganising her life to suit herself and by befriending and helping the people she meets. When she works with Gérard on a project set by the prefecture, he appreciates her so much that he proposes marriage.
